[ he was carrying his sword and an axe today, plus some stakes for good measure. not that there were many vamps left out here. a serial killer had to be easy to spot, right?

spike climbed off cordy, but nothing for miles smelt human.. he was starting to get nervous, brian could hack up girls but could he really hold his own here? he took a deep, albeit unneeded breath and kept his senses keen, cordy watching his back ]

[ Brian seemed to appear out of nowhere, sliding a keyring into his pocket. One of the keys, in fact, was his worldhopping device, but he didn't like to advertise that; made it so much easier for it to get taken away.

He had a wide strap looped across his chest, the black duffel bag at his left. It looked innocuous enough for what it contained, which were his usual on-the-go killing supplies. He wasn't Dexter: Brian liked to do it in the same place each time, with the ease of home and his equipment on a cart. But he'd done it this way before and this was just too much of a fun adventure to pass up.

He smiled. ] Spike, right?

[ he had almost started, but upon seeing the familiar face, he sighed. cordy the dragon got a bit closer to sniff out the newcomer, but she didn't seem too alarmed. she didn't seem to like him either ] Shhh, s'alright, luv. [ spike pet her snout, before turning his attention back to brian ]

Seems like a quiet night here, but come along, I'll show you what you're up against. [ he waved for the taller man to follow, spinning on his heel and walking in the opposite direction; cordy took to the sky to fly a bit ahead ]

lmao Christian Camargo is probably like five inches taller than James Marsters, ahahaha

You weren't kidding about that dragon, [ he said, unashamed to sound slightly awed. His eyes tracked her as she flew off, and he dutifully followed. ]

[ Brian's peering around Hell with marked interest as they joke. It's living up to his expectations so far, he'll give it that, though the lack of brimstone is a bit of a disappointment. He'll have to ask if there's any around and he's just not seeing it. Later. ]

[ Brian stops where he is, miming zipping his lips and turning a key. Despite his antics he's looking around with a little more attention, his left hand resting lightly at the zipper on his bag. ]

[ a slightly mutant looking cat runs across their path and spike takes a breath ]

False alarm. [ he puts down his hand, leading down the street once again. they walked by a godzilla looking creature munching on a hellhound, and some horned demons talking politics. but spike didn't stop for any of that ] Told you it's been slow today.

This is slow? [ Brian asks reflexively as they resume, effectively concealing any extent to which he might be freaking. ] You guys must be fierce on Black Friday.

Dunno yet. Why, you got some relatives out these parts? [ he gave a toothy grin, but it didn't hold any mirth ]

I wouldn't be surprised if I saw someone I knew, [ he says dryly. He goes on, really not at all fatalistically, ] If this really is Hell, I can probably look forward to this when I die. At least I won't need air conditioning; we're used to this in Miami.

Nah, real Hell's nothin' like this. Can tell you that much. [ shrugs, just as a drunk fyarl demon slams into spike from the side, sending him over into brian ]

Oi, watch where the bloody hell you're going, mate! ..Oh, hey, Carl. We still on for kitten poker? [ shuffles back upright, waving a bit as the demon stumbles off ]

Heyo, Brandon, wanna kill a T-Rex?

I think I could do without the Jurassic Park fun ride portion of the evening, thanks all the same. [ Brian has his limits, okay. He's dodging that drunk fyarl demon right now, more or less neatly; he can't help tensing up at things. ]

I'd rather you tell me what real Hell is like. Call it professional curiosity.

Alright. [ spike grins, unblinking as a fireball narrowly misses him and puts itself out in the street in front of where brian's walking ] It's... all fun and games, yeah? Until someone loses an eye.

And that's no joke, one of the Scoobies back in Sunnyhell lost his eye. Wonder how a life without depth-perception is treatin' him. --Oh, right, then. Hell is... well. It's not as warm as I would like, be honest.

[ Brian says promptly, ] False advertising. You should file to the Better Business Bureau.

But you never did tell me. What's a vamp like you doing in a town like this? Is the whole country like this?

Don't rightly know. [ here come the hand gestures! ] Theory is it's a nexus, yeah? Concentrated over California. Just one state, Hell on Earth. But bein' that it's a nexus, sucks us in. We can't leave. Thinkin' some people got away, early on... but we can't reach the rest'a the world in here. It's like there's a bubble over us reflectin' happy, healthy California life.

That's honestly one of the freakiest things I've ever heard. [ his eyebrows go up ] Figures it'd be California, though. If there was ever a state that'd turn into Hell...

Hey, Florida is a great state, [ he says mildly. ] Its solve rate for murders is 20%. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
