How much do you take into consideration how much your inmate likes you (or dislikes you, I guess) ?

Heh. Don't be, I barely got to do anything with him.

Use your best judgment, I guess. Or consult some other wardens, which you're doing now. Sometimes making them make the right decision just won't happen. Or maybe sometimes they need to feel the consequences of their actions to realize why their actions were wrong. Then again, if they're here, they may need intervention to come to that conclusion...

Alright, here's.. the outline of-- whatever.

My inmate is gonna do something drastic, and. It's not overwhelmingly drastic really, and actually is.. justified. But I have a feeling not so many people around here adhere to Hammurabi's code of ethics. So I got a few choices, way I see it. I can sit him down and tell him, you need to be the bigger guy and act all shocked when he goes off and does it anyway. I can support his decision and come off as the worst warden in history, I can turn a blind eye.. or, what? What's my better option, because I'm failing to come up with one that doesn't end with us reassigned or me, demoted.

Hmm. Well, the talking part, you always gotta do that, the "you need to do the right thing" etc. blah blah, but then you need to sit on him. Possibly literally. To help him do the right thing. I mean, if it's less than maiming someone, maybe chaining yourself to him is a bit over the top? But it might make a real difference.
