[shuffling can be heard as the tape turns on, a bit of an inhale as Spike seems to recognize the tape is on; and before you ask, yes, sparkles can be heard.]

[tape clicks back on for a moment, one soft word can be heard before the transmission cuts out for good:] Bollocks.

Sorry. [he answered after a beat] S'affectionate. [he was leading her vaguely toward the library, though he didn't know it yet]

[Elizabeth was quite used to taking a stroll around the Barge, alone and escorted. She found great joy in walking and meeting new people. If she could not do it outdoors, she could at least continue this tradition in the mundane halls in the hopes of social interactions.]

"I forgive you." [The statement wasn't pretentious, just honest.] "If I may, I was hoping to learn more about what precisely a 'vampire' is and how you became one."

Er. Y'haven't stumbled into any others here? - Not many friendly ones, I guess. It's not really all that intrestin'. Vamp by the name'a Drusilla found me, roundabout 1820, I'd figure. An' she decided I was good enough for keepin'.

"I have heard that they exist, yes, but have not had opportunity to speak to any such as yourself." [She listened and considered, her eyes now fixed ahead as she seemed a bit nervous. Her muscles tensed slightly, something he would no doubt feel the way her arms were draped on his.]

"1820? Not long after my own time. What year did you leave before arriving here? And why would you choose to embrace such a lifestyle?"

2003, luv. [tightens his arm slightly in response] ..Which?

"2003?" [Elizabeth stopped walking out of shock, pulling him to stop with her. She gawked at him.] "Pray tell, what is your age? And why would you choose to be a vampire?"

[Her voice wasn't angry, but a mixture of fear, confusion, and shock.]

'Bout.. 230 or so. [blinks] Didn't choose it so much's.. it chose me. [is pulled quite easily, see?]

[Elizabeth releases her hold on Spike, crossing her arms loosely over her own chest. She's nervous now, obviously.] "Explain, please."

[not really sure what he's explaining so he decides.. to ramble. a bit] Vamps.. usually just eat humans, yeah? -I mean, obviously I don't, anymore. But as a general.. rule.

They eat people. But ev'ry now an' again, they ..pick a human for companionship. Sometimes a lover or a child. And. They bite them, but don't kill 'em. And when they share some of their blood s'.. It makes a bond, I guess. Their body dies, an' when y'come back. Er- you're a vamp.

[She stares at him a minute, trying to understand.] "Would you still eat humans if you were presented with the opportunity?" [She pauses, then continues.] "Then you were her lover, Drusilla? Where is she at present?"

[After another thought.] "Did you never desire to end your own life? I should never suggest it in normal circumstance, but I fear 230 years may wear on a soul."

No. [without hesitation, then, guilt like nobody's business as Elizabeth says that name.] Dunno, do I. Don't care neither.

Didn't have a soul until recently. But I did - essentially, anyhow. S'how I ended up here.

"You did not have a soul?" [She asks incredulously, having no idea at all how to take what he just said. One hand moves to her lips, covering them idly as she continues to think. Finally, she drops her arms to her sides again.]

"Do you still love her?" [It's the only thing she can think to ask.]

Can't.. not. [frowns, a bit disturbed that he seems to be unable to keep anything from this woman.]

"I am glad. Everyone deserves to find such a match." [The words seemed less than sincere, but she offers a smile of insistence. Then, slowly, she reaches forward to take his arm again and to continue walking. She isn't so comfortable or close to him as she had been, but at least she isn't rejecting his presence entirely.]

[As they walk, her eyes are away from him and she can't think anymore what to say.]

Don't.. wanna see her ever again. S'. It hurts to- t'think on what we used to do.

Not to mention, she's batshit.

[She takes another moment to consider.] "What does the guano of bats have to do with your love? Why would you desire never to see her again if you still love her?"

[snorts] Just an expression, luv. She's crazier than nuts. -An' I just don't, that's all.

"Very well." [Her answer is quiet, concerned she might upset him. Then they are walking silently again. His hair, once angelic, now strikes her as ghostly.]

Did I - upset you?

"You will permit me time to give proper consideration to what you have said?" [It is a mix of a question and statement. She finally looks at him again for a moment, smiles, and then looks forward once more.] "If I were genuinely offended or to believe you entirely intolerable, I dare say we would not continue to walk."

Alright, luv. All I needed to know.

"You are welcomed to begin an alternate dialogue if you desire." [She doesn't want to be the only one talking, after all.] "I will not ask any more of your past if it displeases you so."

It's -fine, pet. I should think on it.

But tell me - about yours, huh? What brought you here?

"Mm. Nothing so drastic. My eldest sister and dearest friend were both wed or engaged to be married. My mother insisted I should be next, but I insisted on finding someone with whom I could actually enjoy my life. I demanded love. The one man I thought I might have-- well, it was not to be. I was merely looking for a respite to regain my sensibilities and could not afford a trip to a place such as Bath."

[She feels kind of dumb and embarrassed comparing her running away from a boy with his being turned into a vampire, even if it was obviously something else that brought him here.] "After failing Castiel, I considered returning. But I feel as though I am doing good for some and I hope to continue to help people. It is a fulfilling occupation and I have made such acquaintance as I would never have had opportunity if I were in Longbourne. Though it is not proper, I question if it would be a more prosperous existence to remain here than to return only to be married."

[he nods, obviously hanging on her every word] There your actions would only be dictated by your mother, yeah? Here, you can be who you wanna be. [a bit of a flush here] It's a noble effort, an' I doubt you failed him.
